ADVENT CALENDAR: HOT APPLE TODDY

For Day Eight of the cocktail advent calendar, I created "The Hot Apple Toddy." This variation on a classic is perfect for a winter night. Try to find some fresh local cider to make this recipe.

For the drink:

-4 oz apple cider (Great Country Farms)

-1 1/2 oz Calvados (Boulard VSOP or substitute in your favorite brandy)

-1/3 oz fresh lemon juice

-1/2 tablespoon honey


Garnish:

Star anise pod


Glassware:

Glass mug


Warm 4 oz of apple cider. Stir in the Calvados, lemon juice, and honey until the honey dissolves. Garnish with the star anise pod.
