"My Snowman and Me" comes next in the advent calendar. Sia's Christmas song always gets me in the holiday spirit. I wanted to make a snowman cocktail garnish to represent the song. I got a good chuckle watching the snowman bob in the drink. Use a straw so it doesn't hit you in the face.
For the drink:
-2 oz poitín (Mad March Hare)
-1/2 oz pear liqueur (Clear Creek)
-1/2 oz lemon juice
-1/3 oz chestnut orgeat
-1 dash Peychaud's bitters
-Seltzer
Garnish:
Apple
Cloves
Carrot
Glassware:
Tom Collins glass
To make the snowman garnish use a melon baller on an apple, pear, or melon to make the three parts of the body. Connect them with a tooth pick. use cloves for the eyes and arms. Cut a small carrot nose and cut a shallow indentation to insert the nose in the face.
Add the drink ingredients except the seltzer to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for ten seconds. Add the snowman to the glass. Pour the drink through a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer. Top with seltzer.
