For Day Four of the cocktail advent calendar, I came up with "Santa's Sipper." I wanted to create an after work drink for Santa that was suitably strong and warm to ease the aches and pains of climbing up and down millions of chimneys. Santa has to put his cap somewhere after work and it inspired this garnish.
For the drink:
-3 oz apple cider
-2 oz scotch (Laphroaig 10 year old)
-1 oz Don Ciccio & Figli Cerasum (Substitute in a light amaro or cherry liqueur)
-1 1/2 teaspoon honey
-Fresh whipped cream
Warm the three ounces of cider. While the cider warms, add the scotch, Cerasum (or substitute), and honey to the mug. Add the warm cider and stir until the honey dissolves.
