Week Six of the Great British Bake Off was Pastry Week. The technical challenge was baklava. Thus, I decided to try and make a drink that captured the various elements of the dessert. I focused on infusing the cocktail with pistachio, rose, and honey. Hopefully, this cocktail would help me win star baker, so I made a gold star from sugar honeycomb to garnish.

For the drink:

-1 1/2 oz vodka (Grey Goose)

-1/2 oz pistachio orgeat

-1/4 oz honey simple syrup

-1/4 tsp Rooh Afza

-3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

-Egg white


Honeycomb star



Make sugar honeycomb and pour it into a lightly oiled star shaped cookie cutter. Allow to cool for 1 hour. Place your coupe in the freezer. Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake for 40 seconds without ice. Add ice and shake for 10 seconds. Pour into your glass through a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer. Garnish.
