The fall whiskey cocktail series continues with the "Birds Fly South." The idea behind this came from this small bird themed crystal vase I inherited from my grandparents. Two core ingredients of the drink are a rye from Canada and a pisco from Chile. This drink represents the journey many birds make from one end of the world to the other.

For the drink:
-1 1/4 oz rye (Alberta Premium Cask Strength)
-1/2 oz pisco reservado (Alto del Carmen)
-1/2 oz Cocalero Negro
-1/2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
-1/2 oz honey simple
-1 dash mole bitters
Garnish:
Grapefruit peel
Add the drink ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 10 seconds. Pour through a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer. Garnish.
