COFFEE OLD FASHIONED

Guest Feature: Kelly Lyons

For the drink:

2 oz bourbon (Kelly recommends Woodford Reserve or Rowan's Creek)

1 oz Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liquor (or sub in your favorite coffee liqueur, I used Borsci)

2 oz Water

Dash Angostura bitters

Dash Orange bitters

For the garnish:

Lemon peel

Glassware:

Rocks glass

Combine the drink ingredients in cocktail mixer. Fill with ice until all of the liquid is contacting the cubes. Stir for about 20 seconds until chilled. Pour over a large ice cube in your rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon peel, if desired.

Thanks to Kelly Lyons for her take on an old fashioned. While I didn't have the coffee liqueur she recommended, I substituted in Borsci Elisir S. Marzano, an Italian liqueur with hints of coffee. I loved it, but I'm sure it would have been even better if I had gotten the Mr. Black. I'll definitely come back to this recipe again as the weather gets colder.
