This is my interpretation of the showstopper challenge from episode 8 of the Great British Bake Off's 11th season: the jello art design cake. For dessert week, I made modern daiquiri flavored jello shots.
For the drink:
-1/2 cup white rum (Batavia-Arrack van Oosten)
-1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
-1/3 cup white sugar simple syrup
-1/4 cup water
-1 packet of unflavored gelatin (.25 ounces)
Nick and Nora
Mix together the rum, lemon juice, simple syrup, and gelatin in a bowl. Bring the 1/4 cup of water to a boil and then stir into the bowl with the other ingredients. Determine the design you want to make with the jello. Divide up the liquid jello and add food coloring. Add jello to the two Nick and Nora glasses in the desired pattern. For each layer of jello, allow it to set for at least 2 hours.
