It would probably be impossible to fulfill my tiki theme if I didn't feature a cocktail heavy on guava. "Guava Guava Island" builds around the central ingredient with a host of Caribbean flavors. The key lime juice brings a wonderful tartness to the drink and blends well with the other more muted ingredients.

For the drink:
-1 1/2 oz white or lightly aged rum (Diplomatico Planas)
-1/2 oz triple sec (Cointreau)
-1/2 oz fresh key lime juice
-1/4 oz allspice dram (homemade or St. Elisabeth Allspice Dram)
-3 oz guava juice
-1/2 oz simple syrup
-1 oz coconut cream
Garnish:
Azalea blossoms (DON'T PUT THEM IN YOUR DRINK, THEY ARE POISONOUS)
Cocktail cherry
Glassware:
Milkshake glass
Combine all of the drink ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Fill three-quarters with ice and shake for 15 seconds. Pour into your glass through a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer. Garnish.
