THE HORNED IDOL

Summer is the time to grab random fruit, and the horned melon I found at the grocery story led to "The Horned Idol." This tangy and sour tropical cocktail eases any tension you may have.

For the drink:

-2 oz rum (Equiano Rum)

-1/2 oz Baltamaro

-1 1/2 oz fresh lime juice

-1 1/2 oz guava juice

-1/2 oz simple syrup

-1/2 horned melon

-2 oz cold seltzer


Garnish:

Horned melon slice

Cocktail umbrella


Glassware:

Tiki mug


Cut your horned melon in half and scoop the contents into your cocktail shaker. Combine all the cocktail ingredients except the seltzer and add ice. Shake for 10 seconds. Add ice cubes to your tiki mug and pour through a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer. Top with cold seltzer. Garnish.
